My coolant level is just below minimum and I just had it replaced

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your Sportage's coolant level is sitting just below the minimum after a recent replacement, there are a few things to consider. Sometimes, after replacing the coolant, air bubbles can get trapped in the system. That baby may need to be burped! As the engine runs and the coolant circulates, these bubbles can work their way out, causing the coolant level to drop slightly. Here’s what you can do: 1. **Top Off the Coolant:** When the engine is cool, add a bit more coolant to bring it up to the appropriate level. Make sure you use the correct type of coolant specified for your Kia. 2. **Check for Leaks:** Look around the engine bay and under the car for any signs of coolant leaks. Even a small leak can cause the level to drop. 3. **Monitor the Level:** Keep an eye on the coolant level over the next few days. If it continues to drop, there might be an underlying issue that needs attention, like a leaking hose, radiator, or even the water pump. If the level stabilizes after topping off, it is likely just air working its way out. However, if the problem persists, it might be worth having it checked by a professional.
