the local nbt says its a part that went out? could it be my wheel sensors?

abs failure will disable the esc. have the code pulled, diaged and repaired. the esc will come back on line. the wheel speed sensors are the most common failure. Roy
Is it covered under Kia warranty? Kia as a car manufacturer put a lot of great technical information and work shop manuals on line for free for Kia owners. www.kiatechinfo.com
I am having the same problem. All 3 light came on after getting new tires. Two repair shops told me nothing came up on their computers. 3rd one told me the brake fluid is leaking into the Module which is shorting out the computer. "michy1869" what turned out to be wrong with your car? anyone else same problem? I was told by the repair shop that the part is about $1900
its likely just your brake lamp switch and may be covered under the sc098 recall
Shop quoted me same ABS module unit for $1900. It can be bought "new" at KIA CAR PARTS.NET for $1523. I already had my brake switch replaced and that wasn't it. This sucks.
Same here, brake switch assembly at 22k mi, now they say $2,500 for abs module at 30k mi. Hope it's not dangerous, not fixing it.
I had this issue and i did replace the 2,000 part. My mechanic said it was a saftey issue and to contact kia and tell them that. Kia said they would pay 10% only if i had it fixed at the dealership. It was still cheaper to have my guy do it. He tooked into getting a used part or repairing that one but no luck. I got a brand new kia part. Was hapoy with kia until then. I feel this should be a recall.
I have the same problem. my ABS light is on. I was told by the dealer that just for the part it would cost 2500.00! I have a huge problem with this. I have only 56400 miles on my car. I have done every thing to keep it running to last me along time. I can't afford to fix this. so now what? this is not right. I am hearing more and more, that others have this same problem. I feel a huge protest coming on!
The abs, brake light, tpms problems are all indeed part of the HECU ridiculously expensive hydraulic part. Your car will eventually lurch and die and intermittently do all sorts of bizarre things. The part sort of controls the damn car. I fought with Kia for a month of being blocked by a gatekeeper on the corporate side. I was actually told I simply could not talk to anyone in charge and that they'd take my number and give it to someone "in charge". It was a very rude experience, and after about 5 calls I was told the woman who had answered all my calls was moved to a different department and I had to start all over basically. Finally I found out from my dealer who the district manager was and got ahold of him and said would you get someone at corporate to talk to me!! I had to go through the whole thing again. He made the calls and got permission to take 1/2 of the price off! Still a pretty penny and still had to take the car back twice because of odd noises and smells. Bad biz. Practices if you ask me. They are dismissive and unapologetic about your issues. All that said, the HECU unit was what fixed all of the issues. There are no options other than that. Finding the part outside the dealer can be done and one hecu unit is hard to find. Good luck, but keep at it. A 2000.00 part is ridiculous.. my car had less than 26,000 miles.
roy the shop said it was a hydrolic something part. It connects the abs esc brake light symbols. And they said it was a 1800 dollar part? Could that be correct. Im gonna go to my local guy and have him check it out. The part price was given by a kia shop.I had new tires put on the car a couple weeks ago and then the lights came on not too long after that. So that makes me think its a wheel sensor? What do you think? thanks for answering my question. And if this doesnt get fixed what could happen? Thanks again michelle
a second opinion is good. the abs unit is what they may be referring to. once again, the code needs to be pulled and properly diaged. Roy
