Hello, get a second opinion from another shop if you do not agree with their diagnosis. It's impossible to tell without performing a hands on inspection of your vehicle, but P0711 relates to the transmission fluid temperature sensor. That code alone would not make me feel like the transmission is a concern. However, I can't see or tell what else the vehicle is doing, nor can I read the information from a good diagnostic tool that can inspect and monitor transmission fluid temperature as related by the sensor.
