What makes this problem better or worse?
I changed the spark plugs now it has the check engine light on and slow acceleration, also rough idling and rpm’s raise when at a stop sign.

Hello, a higher idle sounds like a vacuum or air intake leak to me. What does the check engine light share with you when retreiving diagnostic trouble codes for troubleshooting? This is vitally important information that must be learned. When you learn the codes, you'll have direction on diagnostic steps to take. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me Click the link or call us at 877-913-1554. Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! After a spark plug change, if your Sportage is idling rough and shaking, and the RPMs are raising at idle, it’s possible a plug isn't seated correctly, or the ignition coil connections are loose. Double-check that all spark plugs are properly torqued and that the ignition coil connectors are secure. Also, ensure the spark plug gap is correct; an incorrect gap can cause misfires and rough idling. Or, like Dave said, it could be a vacuum leak. The check engine light should have stored codes, so scan them for a clearer idea. It might reveal a misfire code, pointing directly to the troubled cylinder.
