My timing belt on my 06 kia sportage broke while driving, is there any other damages I need to look for?

On some engines the valves can hit the pistons and bend. I'm going to assume he checked for that. Some engines it's not possible for them to touch. If that's the case and the valves are not damaged then you could replace the belt and be ok. Alex
