What is your question?
I see that I can purchase a front Cat Conv online for less than $200 dollars. My questions is; is there a difference between a california front Cat Conv, and one that I can get off the internet and could I possibly replace it myself. I paid for the rear Cat to be replaced and watch them do it in 30 minutes and knew that I could have done it myself. What I am really asking is how easy is it to replace, just a few screws or do I have to take the engine out?

California have strict new laws about catalytic convectors which recently came into force. A lot of on line suppliers won't even sell cats to customers in California. Many cheap catalytic converters are "weld in universal type" not "direct replacement type". California converters are often different to their Federal car counterparts Many exhaust components are within the capabilities of anyone handy with repairs but be ever so careful not to break of rusted or siezed exhaust bolt. Use lots of penetrating oil, patients and if in doubt stop!!!! Do not brake off bolts or it will be much more expensive in the long run than if you had brought your car to a repair shop in the first place. (Use neversieze on any hardware you have off or are replacing).
