my engine revs while idle and now is doing it while engaged in drive

hey, did you ever get to the bottom of this? I am having the same issue, it revs from 1500-2000 a few times before going back down to normal idle when i push the clutch in (mine is 5 speed) and lately has gotten worce and revs itself
