What is your question?
My check engine light came on yesterday afternoon. I had my spark plugs and air filter replaced 2 days ago. Two weeks ago I had to get a major repair done at a shop. I had an oil leak and the oil was coming up around the radiator. I had the leak fixed and valve cover gasket , solenoid oil control valve and radiator hoses replaced. I had a complete coolant exchange done and the car has been working fine. Would the tune up cause my light to come on or any of these other repairs?

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your 2009 Kia Spectra. The check engine light can come on for a large number of different reasons in your vehicle from failing sensors, mechanical issues, wiring concerns, or even an internal computer failure among other possible causes. It can also come on if something wasn't replaced, installed, or plugged in correctly due to previous work that was performed. The best thing to do is to have a high end fully compatible scan tool plugged into your vehicle data port to retrieve the fault code(s) that are coming up with the check engine light concern. It can then be tested to identify which component is causing this issue and then repaired properly from there. I recommend speaking with the previous repair facility that had performed work on your vehicle to see if they will take a look at this for you. If they find it was caused by them they may cover the costs to repair it. This should be checked into as soon as possible to prevent any components from failing or a complete break down as this can be a possibility.
