What is your question?
I changed all three of my drive belts in 2023 and the power steering started squealing shortly after that, fast forward to November 2024 my pump failed fully, so I replaced it and the squealing is now much worse. Every time I start it or try to make a turn, it just screams at me. I need help, I’m at a loss. Thanks in advance. I’ve called shops and they said that it doesn’t sound like the rack and pinion, I just can’t afford to get it looked at right now
What makes this problem better or worse?
Starting the car and turning

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. Check the tightness of the drive belts. They will loosen with wear and will need tension adjusted. Squealing is a result of a load on the belt driven components that allows the belt to slip. It is also true that binding components or worn components like a power steering pump, alternator or air conditioning compressor -- not too mention idler pulleys - can cause binding and noise.
