What is your question?
I have a Kia Spectra5 2006, manual speed transmission. I have recently gotten my clutch cable replaced so that my car can properly shift again. However, the car's having trouble again. Upon inspection of the clutch pedal assembly after the clutch pedal failed to disengage the transmission from gear, I noticed that the black part on the assembly is cracked. It is part of the clutch master cylinder, but I do not know of the individual part's name. Just where it is and what it looks like. The piece is plastic and mounts on the pedal arm via bobby pin lock and when the clutchpedla is pushing in, the piece pushes the cylinder's rod in to disengage the transmission. Because this part is damaged, the pushing action is interrupted, and the transmission remains engaged. I have since wrapped this black plunger looking object with black tape but I am unsure how long this patch will last. I don't want to replace the entire master cylinder if just one plastic piece is the issue.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Wrapping black tape around the piece kept the crack from enlarging enough to slip off
How long has your 2006 Kia Spectra had this problem?
This problem revealed itself yesterday
