The a/c keeps going on and off. We have checked the wiring. cannot figure out wh

Just a few questions: #1 does your air stop running or does it just get warm. Also when you turn it off and back on does it blow cold then gets warm again? If thats the case I just spent 4 hours and found out that my compressor will cycle 1 but can't cycle 2. So it shuts down until I restart engine then it only last a few minutes. Bad compressor. It only happens if I am driving the truck if it's idling it will cycle okay. RPM's pulling to much amps....compressor failure.
