Will putting aftermarket seat covers on my heated leather Soul seats affect their performance?

I just bought a 2015 Kia Soul + with heated/cooled leather seats and a heated steering wheel. I want to keep them looking nice so I purchased a set of seat covers and a steering wheel cover to put on them. Will doing this affect their ability to work properly?
