What is your question?
Car is losing 1/2 - 1 gallon of water every 4 or 5 days. The car isnt getting hot and there's no oil in the water or visa versa. Could this be the heater core causing this? With car idling and heater on the heater doesn't heat up. Not until you accelerate the engine. What can cause this and how to fix . Thank you.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! The case of the missing coolant! The symptoms you're describing could indicate a potential issue with the heater core. If the heater core is leaking coolant, it could result in a loss of coolant without any visible external leaks, although you may find the passenger side floorboard wet. Additionally, if the heater core is clogged or partially blocked, it may not heat up properly until the engine is under load, such as during acceleration. Other possible causes could include a leaking radiator, hoses, or a failing water pump. To diagnose and fix the issue, I recommend having a qualified mechanic perform a pressure test to pinpoint the source of the coolant loss and inspect the heater core for any leaks or blockages.
