What is your question?
I am in the process of putting my 2011 Kia Sorento 2.4 L back together after it had a stretched timing chain. I'm replacing the oil pump timing chain as well, just to make sure I don't have to take it apart again later on. I ordered the parts using my car's VIN to ensure they were going to fit, and when the parts arrived, I discovered that the new oil pump timing chain had 37 links (or 74, depending on how you're counting), while the chain that came off my engine only had 36 (or 72), and the new guides and tensioner were not right as well. The timing chain and other pieces that came in the kit with the oil pump timing chain fit perfectly, but it's just the oil pump timing stuff that doesn't. We confirmed that the engine is the one the car was built with (the VIN number is on the engine and it's the same as my car's). So I'm struggling to understand why there would be two different parts for the same VIN, one being entirely incorrect? (I hope this is detailed and not confusing!) Thanks!
