Take your battery out and have it tested and if good get them to fully charge it. Most auto parts stores will do it for free. I had a car that acted similarly and the battery was bad. Worked some but would hold enough amperage to start the car itself and the alternator was all that was keeping it running after jumping it off. Bought a new battery and changed it out and all the issues disappeared. Good luck and hope this helps.
thanks for your response, i took the battery and had it checked and sure enough it was a goner. so i bought a new one and put it in myself after watching a couple you tube videos. i'm glad i got your response before i had it towed and had someone else work on it. i'm sure you saved me a small fortune, thanks again!
I'm glad it took care of your problem! Best of luck to you. Might be a good idea to have your alternator checked now that the battery is good just to be on the safe side, never know if it is weak that could have been what messed up your battery. Worst case is they tell you it is fine and that is that and only costs you a few minutes versus something wrong with it and costs you to get that replaced along with yet another battery.
