My 2008 Kia Sorento occasionally makes a grinding noise when put in park or neutral.

It has only happened 1 time, and I have a video of it. The time it occurred the car was driven for about 10 minutes and started when I parked the car. I turned it off and back on and the noise continued only when in park and neutral. After work when I started the car and drove home the noise did not occur and has not happened again since.

I will tell you -- a "one time" situation is isolated, and shouldn't really be too worrisome. If it happens again or becomes frequent at times that you can determine with regularity, then it will be good to consult a local tech near you and be able to show it to them.
