Occasionally after driving short distance of a few blocks and parking, car will not start. Wait 5 to 20 minutes and it starts. It turns over, you can hear fuel pump. Can be hot or cold outside. On quarter tank of gas or full. Brand new battery.

When the cranking without starting Is occurring, it will be necessary to check for proper fuel delivery to the engine using a pressure gauge at the fuel rail, and also checking for ignition spark. One of these elements is likely missing at that time. When you find out which one, you can start troubleshooting that area. With a lack of any set diagnostic trouble codes (check those also), fuel delivery tends to be more likely as a cause.
