What is your question?
This car has been to the kia dealership in missoula montana. They had it for about six months. Supposedly changed the motor and transmission charged 8800.00 and it still has the exact same issue. Has all the power one might expect until it starts to warm up approximately 1 or 2 miles then most of the power goes away and can barely get it to go 50 miles an hour. Any idea's would be fantastic. The dealership took our money and then asked if we wanted to let them keep it. My son almost lost his mind.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It runs perfectly until it starts to warm up.
How long has your 2006 Kia Sorento had this problem?
We've had the car for a year or two got it from a family member.

Hello, if a cold engine yields more "normal" performance, and a warm engine makes things fail, it would seem to me that the basic settings prior to the engine warming up when it starts to read sensor data from engine performance are just fine, but the sensor read input is not responding with good performance. Hands on testing is needed to see what is going on and how to resolve it. Further, with the dealership -- engage the service management and even General Manager to lodge your concern and hopeful obtain resaonble assistance for this any any future concern. They simply should not do all that work and then leave you hanging out to dry!
Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Losing power after warming up is frustrating, especially after such an expensive repair. If the dealership swapped the engine and transmission and the issue persists, it might be something else, like a sensor or fuel delivery problem. When your Sorento warms up, a faulty mass airflow sensor (MAF) or oxygen sensor (O2) could be sending incorrect data, causing power loss. Another possibility is a clogged catalytic converter restricting exhaust flow once it heats up. A thorough diagnostic scan is essential to check for any stored codes and sensor readings.
