Crankshaft bolt sheared off in my engine, so many similar complaints, defective?

Thanks for the information. How old was your car or mileage when the bolt snapped? I contacted my local Consumer Protection Directorate (Kingdom of Bahrain)who then contacted the Kia Agent. The Agent kicked up a fuss at first but eventually were pressured into repairing under the warranty but I still had to pay out a huge chunk for parts which they say were either not related or not in the engine (cover assey timing belt, timing belt, auto tensioner, tensioner pulley, case assey oil filter and lots of others), in the end, I ended up paying around 50% of the original amount of repairs. I wasn't too happy about that but my car was in the garage for a whole month whilst the discussions were going back and forth and I was just glad to get it back. I heard from a friend that his 2006 Sorento has had the engine replaced twice and is on its 3rd engine! I find that quite shocking...

I have had couple sorentos..with no problems at all...maybe im one of the lucky few...
