Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your 2005 Kia Sorento. Spark plugs can cause a misfire concern if incorrect spark plugs are installed. Usually the best way to determine if you have incorrect spark plugs installed is to look at the plugs that should be installed compared against the plugs that are installed and if there is a difference in how far in they thread or seat this can cause a misfire. Other components like fuel injectors, ignition coils, too much or too little of fuel, loss of compression, among other concerns can also create this type of an issue. I recommend having the engine running condition checked over/tested properly to identify which component is creating the misfire so the misfire can then be repaired properly and to assure that the correct repair is being performed.
