Are you certain the engine is not getting gas? Are you certain there is adequate fuel pressure? When a concern happens that results in the engine stalling and not restarting, there is either a loss of fuel or spark. There could also be a loss of air to the intake (or too much getting in), or there could be an exhaust restriction. Most commonly there is a loss of fuel or spark. ALSO -- this vehicle has a timing belt. The timing belt could have broken -- leaving the engine unable to operate, and possibly damaging internal components. That would be a very serious concern. Kia says to replace the timing belt every 40,000 - 60,000 miles, depending on the type of driving you do.
