Door open alarm going off for no reason. Is there a way to diconnect it?

Look for the door sensor. Mine on a 2005 Sorento is down and on left side of door opening.You will be able to push it in and alarm will silence. Tape over the sensor, pushing it in as far as possible. Make sure you do not put on too much tape so that door closes properly.

2008 model - my door alarm was going off and the interior lights kept going on/off - initially the drivers door switch was faulty and was replaced under warranty. after 3/4 weeks it started again taking it back again the switch was OK but the door locking was adjusted - the switch work if you pressed it in

In My 2005, the door becomes slightly bent after slamming the door on the seat belt buckle. New switch wasn't the answer. With the window down, I placed a block of wood in the door and carefully applied significant but pressure, tweaking the door to fit better. Don't dent the door!

The fix is simple - attach several layers of duct tape on the door to build up the point of contact with the switch. That will fix it without having to make a big production replacing the switch.
