Is there a known problem with the transmission

Interestingly enough, the 2004 and 2005 model year transmissions are identical -- but make sure you have the same either California or non-California models! I am not seeing a specific issue with transmission failures according to service bulletin information from Kia. But, anything is possible -- checking the forums on RepairPal is a good start to see if there are other folks with questions about the transmission.
