2005 Kia Sedona Front Heater blows air but is not hot. Rear Heater works fine.

What is your question?

When I turn my front heater to the red section, it just continues to blow air as if I didn't turn the dial to heat at all. The AC works fine. The Heat in the rear of the vehicle works fine. What could this be?

Actually I do not believe it was the above mentioned acuator blend door. After having this problem with my 2005 Kia Sedona Ex I contacted my local Kia Dealership and they said there are 2 seperate heater cores for this vehicle. And that when the front heater core goes bad the rear one will still work! going to have this fixed in a few weeks since it is around a $500 repair and I will let you know if it fixed the problem!

Yes. It was the heater blend door. I went to a junkyard and found a Sedona with the dash removed. The part was $45.00, and a pain to put in, but once I knew what I was looking for, it wasn't too bad. Try a local "u-pull-it" parts location and take a camera. I can't upload pictures to this site. Good luck, Mike

Mike. Have another question for you: How the heck did you get all three screws out? I have two of the three, but the last one, the one behind the metal tubular bar...that one seems impossible to get to. Did you have a special screw driver? Aaaaaaaaaaargh!

Heater temp blend door actuator. Having the same problem. Just got home from Kia dealer and got drawings of component locations. I would post them but don't see anywhere to do that. Good luck. Mike

Hi Mike, Just wondering if you ever fixed this issue with your Kia. We just had the same thing happen to us. I opened up the dashboard today and tried moving the heater blend arms, but no go. In the process, I found the air flap actuator, so at least I know where that is. Did you have any luck? Do you still have the part number and drawings? It would be awesome to hear back from you. It's cold in Seattle and the wife is freezing!

Yes. I actually went to a junk yard and found a Sedona that was stripped on the inside. I got pictures but can't upload them to this site. And yes, it was the heater blend door and actuator. It had a "cross" where the two arms crossed and one of the arms stuck and came loose from the actuator. If you have access to a junk yard or "u-pull-it" auto parts, go look around. It was a major pain to replace it, but well worth it. I think they charged me $45.00 for the unit. Good luck, Mike.

The air blend door actuator is not working. I had the same problem, and I did the repair. In order to get to it, you have to remove the bottom of the dashboard, the center console, and the glove box. Not easy, but it can be done. I am sure that a shop will charge you a ton of dollars to do it. I have pictures, but they will not paste in this answer window.

I had the same problem and had it "repaired". I have heat (feels like lukewarm air at times) coming through the front but now I don't have any air coming through the back ceiling vents. When the RR HTR button is pressed there's heat coming through the vents in the back on the floor but when released no air from top vents. What do you think happened?
