What is your question?
My car sounds weird, it has trouble accelerating, I haven’t checked my engine light for a year and couple months, I changed my oil 2 weeks ago and had to put more so it burns oil, when I checked the exhaust it had smoke coming from it, I think the catalytic converter is done for but not sure I wanna know if my car is beyond repair? Or could I fix the o2 sensor and it goes away?
What makes this problem better or worse?
I mostly feel and hear it during cold start
How long has your 2014 Kia Rio had this problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. A flashing engine light indicates that your Rio is experiencing a catalyst-damaging misfire. This could damage the catalytic converter and various engine components. Oil consumption could be caused by worn piston rings or valve seals, which can also damage the catalytic converter. The misfire could be caused by the oil consumption issue or by other things, such as spark plugs or ignition coils. I would recommend taking the car to a trusted repair shop to get a complete diagnosis of the symptoms. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
