What is your question?
It still doesn’t start. I’ve replaced ECM, fuel pump, cleaned fuel, crank shaft, cam shaft, throttle position sensor, and gas cap. Idk what else to try. We even tried jumpstarts. For a min, we could start it by lightly hitting gas pedal n holding ignition. There’s oil in valves too but that was there years before this started.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Nothing

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like your 2010 Kia Rio is playing a frustrating game of hide-and-seek with you. Since you've already replaced a laundry list of components, let's focus on a couple of areas that might be the culprits. Consider the ignition switch itself. If it’s worn out, it might not be consistently sending the signal to start the engine. Given your experience with the car only starting when you lightly press the gas pedal and hold the ignition, it could be pointing to an issue with the ignition system or the throttle body. Finally, check the wiring harness for any damaged or frayed wires. A broken wire or a short somewhere in the system can cause erratic behavior. Since you’ve put so much effort into solving this, it might be worth having a professional technician take a look. Sometimes, a fresh set of eyes can spot something that’s been missed. Hang in there—your Rio will be back on the road before you know it! If you need more advice, have other questions, or need to find a certified repair shop in your area, just let me know!
