Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. Your Rio dying at a light is not only frustrating but it is also dangerous to lose vehicle power on the road. One common cause is an intermittent electrical problem, such as a failing battery connection, ignition switch, or sensor. These can cause the car to lose power and regain it after the components have cooled down and the electrical connection has been re-established. I would recommend finding a trusted shop to diagnose the issue as it can have many different causes. They can thoroughly inspect and check for any diagnostic trouble codes that might indicate the underlying problem. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered. Give us a call at 877-913-1554, and we will happily help you out!
