Which way the arrow on purge valve go

Hello, I'm sorry to say that the illustrations I am looking at to not have an arrow indicated. I would suggest that it goes the same direction as the one that came off of it if you are replacing it. It would seem to me that you would put it in the direction of flow. Consult a local shop near you for further guidance.
