What is your question?
Trying to troubleshoot charging system. Battery is a bit low on charge sitting at about 11 volts and may be bad. When jumped the car slowly dies after being disconnected. This seems like an alternator issue especially with the Alternator output showing at 6.31 volts when testing from the B pole to the ground with a multimeter. Seems like the car should run on the alternator power once jumped even if the Battery is dead. This is the second Alternator I have tried and both were outputting the same voltage. I am afraid it may be the ECU but seems odd that it would cut the output in half like this and I don't like the prospect of buying a new ECU.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Runs fine while jumpered to another vehicle
How long has your 2008 Kia Rio had this problem?
Couple days that I know of. Haven't used car in about a year.
