You I have a 2018 Kia optima ex 2.4l in October out of nowhere. My car would need a jumpstart to be able to drive anywhere and I had an automatic jump starter that I would use every day and overtime and needed more power and back in November the engine light came on so I went to AutoZone to test my car and the battery was good. Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your Optima won't start even with a new battery, and you're seeing white smoke near the starter, it sounds like there could be a few issues at play. The white smoke might indicate an electrical short or overheating component, possibly related to the starter or wiring. The P0014 code suggests a problem with the camshaft timing, which can affect engine performance and starting. Since the car also had no oil, it's crucial to address that immediately, as running without oil can cause severe engine damage and could even be the root cause of the stalling and P0014 code. Since this diagnosis could get a little tricky, I'd recommend consulting a trusted repair shop. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
