What is your question?
I have a 2016 kia optima with a small touch screen on it. Not sure the size but they seem common in most kia optima’s i’ve seen. It is just a regular radio with bluetooth no gpa or apple carplay. I have found this other kia that has its original radio and it’s the 7 inch touch screen with apple carplay and all that. I was wondering if i took that larger touch screen out of the car and put it in my car would it fit?

Hi, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Great question, and I totally understand the appeal of upgrading to a larger screen with Apple CarPlay! Unfortunately a direct swap like this is rarely as straightforward as it might seem. Even within the same year and model, Kia used different head unit configurations that may have different wiring harnesses, connector types, and software that are specific to the trim level the unit came from. A unit from a different Kia may not communicate properly with the body control module or other systems in your vehicle without additional programming or wiring modifications. There are also some cases where swapping infotainment units can affect other vehicle functions like the backup camera, climate control display, or steering wheel controls if they aren't properly integrated. I'd recommend consulting with a qualified shop or a car audio specialist who has experience with Kia vehicles before attempting this swap, as they can tell you whether it's feasible and what additional components or programming might be needed.
