Can my 2015 Kia Optima support Apple Car Play without the navigation system?

I have a 2015 Kia Optima that doesn’t have the navigation system. It does have a touch screen and Bluetooth, just not the navigation. I was under the assumption that if I update the system, it will be able to connect to Apple Car Play. Is this correct?
