What is your question?
Recently I was driving and noticed my gas gauge dropped to empty and my gas light was flashing. No check engine light on. Turned off the vehicle after about 10 minutes or so, and then it went back to normal. What does this mean?
What makes this problem better or worse?
Turned it off. Left it off for 10 minutes. Even pumped gas and now its back to normal.
How long has your 2014 Kia Optima had this problem?
Barely today

Hello, the fuel gauge and low fuel warning light are tied to the fuel sending unit in the fuel tank at the fuel pump. A concern with the sending unit, wiring or the instrumentation itself is what is causing the problem. Test equipment capable of monitoring data will be able to look at the fuel tank level and even command the gauge to move if desired. Your check engine light will not come on for this concern.
