What is your question?
So when i slow down to a stop and go to accelerate the car will kinda seem as if its having trouble accelerating. When i hit the gas the Eco Guide gage on the dash rises but no rpms nor movement of the car. I would have to wait like a whole 2-4 seconds until the car decides it wants to go. It does a jerking movement before it accelerates.
What makes this problem better or worse?
When im on a hill the delay of acceleration is longer.
How long has your 2013 Kia Optima had this problem?
2 Months

Hello, does the engine speed up without the vehicle moving? Or does the accelerator give too response at all? If the engine rev's up without moving, then it could be related to some kind of transmission issue. If the engine does not respond when depressing the accelerator, it could be a fuel delivery issue, air intake issue or exhaust flow issue - such as a restricted catalytic converter. In any case, hands on testing will be needed to determine what's going on. Nothing I can guess at here will be definitive -- only a few ideas related to your symptom. Enlist the assistance of a skilled technician near you for testing. https://repairpal.com/auto-repair-near-me
Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! How can you live your life one-quarter mile at a time if you can't get off the line? Forgive the Fast and the Furious line but seriously, the lack of acceleration and hesitation under load can be a real safety issue! As DaveJM said, the hesitation to accelerate could be caused by several issues. It might be due to a faulty throttle position sensor, fuel delivery problems, air flow, or issues with the hybrid system. Additionally, issues with the transmission or electronic throttle control could also cause this symptom. It sounds like a classic misfire symptom but that usually triggers a check engine light. Having the computer scanned for pending fault codes and having a trained technician take a gander is the best bet to getting back to the fast and furious lifestyle!
