I still owe around 4600 on my car I need an engine I know I know my bad would it be better to just get it new cheaper car and keep making payments so I can pay it off next year or fix it what does it cost usually to replace an engine in a 2009 Kia Optima

Hello, If you are the original owner, and if the vehicle is under 100k miles, Kia will probably cover it. If you don't meet both of those criteria, there are used engines out there for about 900-1500, and installation is pretty quick and easy on Kia/Hyundai 4 cylinder models. You can probably have this done for 2000-2500 dollars if you work with a trustworthy shop that will allow you to source your own engine or that will not up-charge you on the engine. The other part is that engine repair may be cheaper than replacement, so be sure to get all your ducks in a row with quoting repair and replacement before you make a decision. 4600 is a lot to spend on something you don't/won't have.
