What is your question?
I bought my car new and have never seen this happen to a car. I have hundred thousand miles on my car now. the pealing started 4 months ago and I have been told nothing can been done. I have had many cars over the years and have never seen this. I was told everything works on a point system and was asked if my parents ever owned a kIA My parents have been dead for 20 yrs. I was then asked if any other members of my family owned one. I'm 70 yearse their for 4 hrs. crazy. I do take my car to be serviced every 3 months at my own place and if anything needs to be done it is, and at a lower price then what KIA charges. I was told the more points I got the better my chances were to have something done. Really? The DM was not helpful at all and would not ever suggest what i could do. My next step after this will be the TV station.
What makes this problem better or worse?
car paint pealing

Hello, I'm sorry you are having paint concerns. It is very true -- for dealerships, loyalty is a pretty big thing when it comes to trying to get help with a concern after the warranty has expired. Servicing at your local dealership can cost a bit more than other well qualified local shops, but your patronage also enables you to be in "good favor" when seeking "goodwill" assistance. The other thing that helps is buying the car new, which you did. If you have already escalated up the corporate ladder at Kia, then there is likely no further recourse; the warranty is what it is, and when it's over, they bear no obligation to do anything to repair the paint on your vehicle.
I bought a 2013 Kia Optima brand new and within the last 6 months im having same issue. Paint literally flying off my car! Its been garage kept, and mostly hand washed. Im scared to even was my car because more pai t keeps coming off. The dealership days theyve never seen an issue like this and keep asking if it had a previous owner that had a paint job. They are not taking responsibility so as much as I love my car...the quality sucks
As my previous answer stated: contact Kia directly and ask for help. Be in direct touch with the service manager or general manager of your local Kia dealership and seek action. All you can do is try, and yes, they can say no, but maybe you will get somewhere. Good luck.
