How will I know if the crankshaft cause car not to hold charge

Not sure I understand the question, but the condition of the crankshaft has nothing to do with the battery holding a charge. Maybe you should take the vehicle to a parts store (Advance Auto, O'Reilly's, Auto Zone, etc.), and have them do a load test on the battery. Maybe you didn't need the new starter.
