The ac is not working, at times it does work, the ac light will come on. The fuses are okay and there is still freon in it. the fan works

Hi - Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. If your air conditioning system works sometimes, that means refrigerant state of charge is not an issue. I would be focusing my attention on something more electrical related. Or condenser fan operation related. First, make sure your condenser fan comes on when the air conditioning is running. If it is not, you will never get the refrigerant to consistently cool, and change back into gas form from a liquid. Airflow from driving the car can cooler, but not the same as a condenser fan at all times even when the vehicle is not moving. Besides that, the coil on the compressor may not be working consistently. A high pressure cut off switch or cycle switch could be a concern.
