What is your question?
I had a CEL appear on a long trip, service traction control, I used tazer mini, code came back as steering wheel misalignment. The alignment of the steering was off by at least a quarter turn, i had been off-roading so I assumed this to be a result of my track bar needing to be readjusted, or tie rod bushings being warn. I took the jeep to the dealership and they are telling me I have a faulty clock spring and needs replaced. After researching symptoms of faulty clock spring do not match what is occurring in my jeep. Can a faulty clock spring affect steering wheel alignment?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! A faulty clock spring typically affects things like airbag deployment, horn function, and steering wheel controls, but it doesn't directly impact steering alignment. If your Jeep Wrangler's steering was off after off-roading, it's more likely related to your suspension, track bar, or tie rods, as you suspected. The clock spring is more about electrical connections in the steering wheel, so unless you're having issues with those, it might not be the culprit here. I'd get a second opinion before replacing it.
