What is your question?
My jeep has been overheating intermittently. I have replaced the thermostat and replaced the radiator fan. The repair shop initially said it was my fan. I replaced it. It started overheating a month later after the fan was replaced. It continues to overheat. Sometimes it overheats when it idles or when the A.C. runs. Sometimes it is fine. The repair shop tested for leaks and said the fan is not getting enough electricity to it. One of the mechanics did a bypass. This bypass worked for a while, now it is overheating intermittently again. I was told it needs a new wiring harness. I am so frustrated
What makes this problem better or worse?
A.C. on, if it idles too long or if the car is driven a long time
How long has your 2016 Jeep Wrangler had this problem?
Since September 2021

Hello, it sounds like some shops have been addressing your concern - improperly - by "bypassing" controls to run the fan. This might have helped short term, and may have been seen as "saving money" but in the long run, you may have caused more troubles. It sounds like your fan is not working when it should, consistently. And yes, now, the wiring harness could be suspect since it was "bypassed". It is also important to see when and why the fan is (and is not) being commanded to turn on by module controls. This is likely the original root cause of the concern, and even after a harness is replaced could still cause troubles.
