Hi, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Great question, and I totally understand wanting to upgrade the tires on your Rubicon! Going from 275/75/17s to 37/12.5/17s is a pretty significant jump in both diameter and width, and the honest answer is that on a stock 2015 Rubicon even with the bigger fender flares you will almost certainly need a lift to run 37s without rubbing. Most Wrangler owners find that a minimum of a 2.5 to 3.5 inch lift is needed to comfortably clear 37 inch tires, and even then some trimming of the inner fender liner may be required. The wider 12.5 inch width could also cause rubbing on the front bumper and track bar bracket during full steering lock turns. Making a change that significant can affect steering, handling, and safety, as well as other parts of your drivetrain that you may not initial think of. Because there are several variables involved and lots to consider when dramatically changing tire size, I’d strongly recommend consulting with a qualified 4x4 specialist shop before making the purchase. They can assess your specific Jeep and recommend the right combination of lift, wheels, and offset to get the look and handling you want without any rubbing issues.
