Oil Pressor Sensor

Hello, if you do not have a low oil pressure warning light illuminated, the vehicle is running normal and the oil is at the proper level -- what is the part being recommended for replacement for? That's the part I'm having a hard time understanding. The sensor sends information to the oil pressure gauge or warning light, but doesn't affect engine operation or lubrication, so I'd say you're in good shape.
