Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your Wrangler. The moldy smell in your A/C likely comes from moisture and debris trapped in the system, allowing mold to grow. If your Wrangler is equipped with a cabin air filter, start by replacing it. Then, clean the evaporator core, which often harbors mold. To access it, you'll need to remove the A/C housing under the dash, but on a Wrangler TJ, this can be labor-intensive. For a more straightforward option, use an A/C cleaning foam spray, available at most auto parts stores. Insert the nozzle into the A/C vents and the evaporator drain hose under the vehicle, which helps flush mold and dirt. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
