how much labor time to replace exhaust manifold?

Actually it's not true. According to the official labor guide it takes 4.2 hours, but in reality it takes longer, due to rusted and seized manifold studs and nuts. Of course it does not includes the replacement of broken exhaust/intake studs, which could happen during removal. Are you replacing the manifold because it's cracked? May I asked if they priced you an OE Jeep manifold from the dealer? There are a lot better quality stainless manifold for less price than the OE and they won't crack. I had a friend/nieghbor replace mine on my 1997 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4.0. He had the whole thing done in two hours and we didn't have any overhead lift. He did it right in the driveway. The first (stock) manifold went bad and i had a friend weld it. That lasted for a couple three years. The second was done at the dealer and it lasted about three years. This last time i researched quite a bit and found the exhaust manifold at a company in Texas i believe it was in ft.worth. It only cost around $80 or $90 with shipping. I've had this manifold on for almost 5 years. When you do find a manifold make sure that it has the accordian looking metal at the elbow. The original manifolds don't, and they fail. It's a very common problem, Jeep knows it, the Dealers know it. The manifolds should be a recall. What ever you do STAY AWAY FROM THE JEEP DEALERSHIP IN BENTONVILLE ARKANSAS
