If the problem is the clutch hydraulic system cannot develop enough hydraulic pressure to completely " break the drive" between the engine and the transmission due to contaminated fluid or worn seals in the cylinders then yes it will help. If the problem is worn synchromesh rings in the transmission then it won't.

If this only happens going 1st to 2nd probably not. It is probably the syncros in the trans.
