Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If your 2016 Jeep Patriot is still flirting with the red zone after a radiator hose replacement and coolant flush, it could be more than just the hose. Overheating can also come from a failing thermostat, a radiator that’s partially clogged, or even a weak water pump not circulating coolant efficiently. If the heater or defrost helps cool things down, it suggests coolant is moving through the heater core, which means circulation might be restricted elsewhere. It’s worth having the thermostat and radiator checked, and a mechanic can test for any blockages or issues with the cooling system’s flow.
