There is a campaign NHTSA campaign number: 13V552000. Many people have this problem. Call Jeep and have your Vin # . They can run the vin and find out if this campaign applies to your jeep. There should be n/c for this and they should provide a loaner vehicle. Ira Action Auto Services
This happened to my jeep. 4 or 5 times. The last time was on Christmas day 2015. I had to rent a car at the airport. The dealership said in their possession the electronic throttle control never acted up. They ended up replacing it anyway. I had a warranty package. But the part was on backorder so I had to pay the deductible, the expedited shipping. Not happy.
I would be happy to check it out . I do a lot of jeeps. However this still should be a warranty issue with jeep. I would suggest you telephone the zone headquarters for jeep. They will require your vin number. Ask to speak to the Zone manager to help you find the solution to the problem. This is a safety hazard and they should be able to help you asap. Ira
