Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like you're dealing with a couple of issues here. That white smoke from the tailpipe usually points to burning coolant, which could be a sign of a head gasket issue. The rough running and misfire symptoms also make me think that coolant may be seeping into one of the cylinders, causing the misfire. Even though you don’t have cooling issues yet, a slow leak could develop before more noticeable symptoms like overheating occur. With your check engine light on for a while, it's worth scanning the codes to pinpoint if it's just a misfire or something else, like low compression in a cylinder.
