Fuse for brake lights/tail lights

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Jeep Liberty. Fuse 12 which is a 15 amp fuse located in the driver side interior dash fuse panel powers up the stop lamp switch, when the stop switch is activated by applying the brake pedal it then sends the power down to the brake lights themselves. The tail/park lights are controlled by a park lamp relay which is also located in the same fuse panel. The body computer energizes this relay to power up the tail/park lights when the lights are turned on. Fuses 7 and 9 (both are 10 amp) are also located in this same fuse panel which then send power to the tail/park lamps. I recommend having all of these fuses checked to see if any of them are blown and needing to be replaced. If the fuses are good that can indicate a fault with the body computer itself, the relay, a wiring concern, or possibly even an internal fuse panel concern itself that will need to be checked into.
