Every morning my oil pressure light turns on and stays on after starting car. I can turn car off and back on and the light will turn off like normal. It will not turn back on again until the next morning. Jeep Liberty 2006 high mileage (240000).

Hello, this is as simple as determining if there's a real problem with engine oil pressure or if it is a gauge or warning light issue. The best thing to do is have the oil pressure checked with a manual gauge. If it's within specification, either the oil pressure sending unit or wiring related to this sensor is in question and should be looked at for possible concerns.
Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! That's no way to start your day! Given the high mileage, fluctuations in oil pressure can occur due to wear and tear on engine components. The oil pressure sensor might be failing or there could be low oil pressure until the oil is pumped up from the pan to the engine. Start by checking oil levels and condition. If they're fine, have the oil pressure sensor tested or replaced. Also, checking the oil pressure with a gauge is a good idea as well. Additionally, consider a thorough engine inspection to ensure no underlying issues are causing the pressure fluctuations. If you have any other questions feel free to call us at 877-913-1554!
